Our Dispatch Center is staffed 24-hours a day. It is equipped with a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system capable of instantly recalling information on previous patients and simplifying call taking and tracking. Our Dispatchers are highly trained in prioritizing calls based on the severity of illness and injury. We also utilize a Global Positioning System (GPS) that allows us to track in real time the location and status of resources and personnel, enabling us to send the closest appropriate unit to a call.

Basic Life Support  
  • Our Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances are staffed by New York State Certified Emergency Medical Technicians. Many of our staff are also instructors.
  • Our BLS ambulances are equipped with patient transportation devices, first aid supplies, splints, oxygen, suction, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), obstetrical kits and electric inverters to supply power for specialty medical equipment.

All EMT's and BLS ambulances fully comply with all New York State Department of Health regulations.

Equipment Used
Philips HeartStart® FR2+ Semi-Manual Defibrillator
The FR2+ uses the proven SMART Analysis algorithm to ensure that a shock is delivered only if it is appropriate. And Philips low-energy SMART Biphasic waveform delivers a highly effective defibrillation shock that is also gentle to the heart. No other external defibrillation therapy has been supported by more clinical data. SeniorCare EMS is one of the very few ambulance companies State-wide to offer AED's on all of it's BLS units.

 

Advance Life Support 

Our Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances are staff by New York State Certified Paramedics. In addition to BLS supplies, they are equipped with state of the art life saving equipment including 12-lead cardiac monitors with defibrillation and external pacemaker capabilities, intravenous medication transfusion pumps, pulse oximeters, ventilators, automated non-invasive blood pressure monitors and emergency medical/cardiac drugs.

All Paramedics and Paramedic ambulances fully comply with all New York State Department of Health regulations, as well as Regional EMS Council of New York City, protocols. ALS ambulances are for individuals requiring advanced pre-hospital intervention or inter-facility transportation. Our paramedics can provide patients with advanced care including IV's, cardiac monitoring, and intubation. Examples of some ALS emergency services include the treatment of chest pain, shortness of breath, altered mental status, cardiac arrest, and major trauma.

Equipment Use

Medtronic LifePak® 12 Defibrillator/Monitor
This unit's Vital Signs trending allows for rapid evaluation of changes in patient condition. Cardiac conditions and risk are easily tracked. The Lifepak 12 allows for noninvasive pacing, pulse oximetry (SpO2), 12-lead ECG, capnography and non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) monitoring.

Pulmonetic Systems® LTV900 Ventilator
Designed to meet the unique challenges of a Emergency Medical Services environment. The LTV900 is made to provide optimum patient comfort and care, the LTV 900 features extensive patient monitoring capabilities and a comprehensive alarms package for optimum patient care including; variable rise time, variable sensitivity flow trigger, variable flow termination, variable time termination, leak compensation, NPPV mode, and high pressure alarm delay. The LTV900 offers active controls and alarms settings that are illuminated for easy identification of ventilation parameters in all pre-hospital settings.

Advance Life Support Fly Cars 

Each ALS fly car carries a full set of BLS supplies and ALS for quick patient care.

Paramedics can be dispatched to a scene to initiate ALS care, prior to the arrival of the ambulance.




Critical Care Transports  

In addition to employing New York State Certified Paramedics, SeniorCare also has a elite group of Critical Care Paramedics. These are paramedics who have undergone additional training offered by the University of Maryland Baltimore County. The Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Program is designed to prepare paramedics to function as members of a critical care transport team. Critical patients requiring transport between facilities need a different level of care from hospital or emergency field patients. Participants will gain an understanding of the special needs of critical patients during transport, become familiar with the purpose and mechanisms of hospital procedures and equipment, and develop the skills to maintain the stability of hospital equipment and procedures during transport.

Our CCEMT-P’s are available 24/7 to assist with a variety of specialty transports which include, but are not limited to, Intra- Aortic Balloon Pumps, Neonate Transports, Critical Burn Transports, Monitoring critical patients on multiple drips, A- Lines, Chest Tubes, etc.

Our CCEMT-P’s are available to help transport patients from hospitals to airfields or vice versa. We are constantly providing more education and training to our Paramedics to be able to have them always be available to provide the highest standard of care

Bariatric Transport Services 

Specialty Bariatric Ambulance Service available.

The SeniorCare EMS Bariatric Care Service has specialized features that sets it apart from a regular ambulance service. Our objective in developing the Bariatric Care Unit was to provide a more dignified and comfortable way to transport patients with special needs. We have removed the obstacles and eliminated the anxiety and stress associated with transporting larger patients while providing a safe and efficient means of transportation. We also employ a specialized vehicle that is equipped with ramps and a winch should the need arise.

Equipment Use

Stryker EMS MX-PRO® Bariatric Transport
An ambulance stretcher specially equipped to accommodate those weighing more than 450 lbs. The MX-Pro has a Maximum Weight Capacity of 1600/850 lbs (727/386 k) depending on its position.

We also provide individual EMT’s and Paramedics, fully equipped, that are available to stand by at school sporting events and track meets.

Our staff of friendly and knowledgeable operators is always ready to assist you with all of your transportation needs.

Long Distance

  • We coordinate all logistics involved in transporting a patient over long distances at the basic or advanced levels of care. We have transported patients by ground as far as Ohio.
