SeniorCare Emergency Medical Services is a state-of-the-art Ambulance Service in New York dedicated to serving the needs of the geriatric population. We are dedicated to providing “Clinical Excellence and Outstanding Customer Service” to all of our patients and their caregivers.
We began operating in April of 2005 with a handful of employees and three ambulances servicing five accounts in the Bronx and Queens and have experienced unprecedented growth since then. Since that time we have grown to over 300 employees, with over 50 ambulances, five response vehicles, and over 100 accounts in all five boroughs. We have revolutionized ambulance service in New York with the way we do business and the “Clinical Excellence and Outstanding Customer Service” we provide.
Leading Innovation in the NYC Ambulance Industry
SeniorCare EMS is leading the way in medical transportation in NY with our service innovations to the nursing home population in New York City, which includes having an Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADNS) on staff. Prior to their first shift, each of our employees undergoes a thorough orientation given by the Chief of Operations. This orientation includes an overview given by the ADNS on patient rights, special considerations for treating and transporting the geriatric population, customer service in the healthcare setting, and patient safety, among other things.
Another one of our innovations has been to install a red phone with no keypad on it that direct dials to our communications center. This enables the nurses to not have to remember phone numbers and they can easily find the phone in the event they misplace their glasses and an emergency is unfolding around them. It is innovations like these that make SeniorCare E.M.S. one of the best choices for medical transportation in NY.
As one of our many visionary practices, SeniorCare E.M.S. is one of the only commercial ambulance services in New York State to have automated external defibrillators on every basic life support ambulance. We believe that a patient should always be cared for above the standard of care. Additionally, we are different than many ambulance companies in that we have two medically trained personnel on every ambulance, not a driver and a medical staff person.
Also, as part of our top-of-the-line customer service, we provide training and education on a wide variety of topics that affect senior health and the geriatric population, such as emergency evacuation training and planning, customer service in the health care setting, and first aid, just to name a few. A huge part of our success at being one of the most recognized New York ambulance services is taking our customer service responsibilities very seriously. We treat each and every client and patient as we would want a close family member to be treated. Due to this devotion, customer service complaints and issues are few and far between.
Community Involvement like No Other NYC Ambulance Service
On the community involvement side, we take pride in giving back to the community. We provided an ambulance and crew to some of our facilities on “Take Your Child to Work Day.” The crew entertained the children by showing them the inside of the ambulance, letting the children play with the flashing lights, and took pictures of them in the driver’s seat of the ambulance.
Also, SeniorCare was the only commercial NYC ambulance service involved in providing first aid, emergency medical services and transport at the 2007 United Stated Open in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The Tennis Association, its patrons and workers commended us on the fine staff that worked at the Open and on the excellent job we did and eagerly invited us back next year in an expanded capacity.
Additionally, we support the local volunteer ambulance corps. When they do not have a crew available, they call SeniorCare E.M.S., recognized as one of the best ambulance services in New York, and we provide them with a crew and an ambulance to get the patient to the hospital.
Caring Starts Within SeniorCare
As one of the most respected ambulance services in New York, SeniorCare E.M.S. is proud of its employees and as such works very hard to take care of them. In addition to the annual company holiday party, we have held town hall meetings where staff members come to talk, share and discuss issues and topics that affect them and SeniorCare E.M.S. Visit our Photos page to see some great shots of our friendly NYC ambulance staff.
In addition, we have continuing medical education courses open to all our staff so we can all hone our skills in the field and the classroom. All of our supervisors and marketing personnel keep a fully stocked cooler with drinks and a bag of snacks in their vehicles, so while making rounds going from facility to facility the crews can be hydrated and taken care of. We at SeniorCare E.M.S. realize that our NYC ambulance service is only as good as our people and we work extra hard to appreciate and take care of them.
SeniorCare E.M.S. is the only ambulance service in New York that is run by a paramedic with over 19 years of experience. We are a clinically based company with a clinical person at the helm.
A New York Ambulance Service rooted in Health, Safety, Respect & Caring
We at SeniorCare E.M.S. take pride in what we do and immensely enjoy our line of work. We instill in each and every one of our staff members the fact that every single patient they treat and transport could very well be them one day, and that every patient needs to be treated with dignity and respect each and every time with no exceptions.
We realize that most people do not want to be in a nursing home. If they are in a nursing home, they certainly do not want to be in the back of the ambulance going anywhere. That extra smile and respect we give the patient goes a long way towards making an unpleasant experience a little more bearable.
This passion for our work cements our status as one of the most trusted New York ambulance services. To get in touch with us for any reason, please call 718.430.9700 or visit our Contact page.
